Thank You Community and Sponsors

DRUUMM and the DRUUMM Organizing Project invited the larger community to a special worship and fundraiser to support our ministry with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in Unitarian Universalism on May 19th, 2021. Over 500 people attended via our virtual congregation on zoom and another 100 via our Facebook live-stream.

Our service was entitled “Becoming Human, Again and Again”, featuring a homily by the Rev. Mitra Rahnema and music with Joshua Long and Nicole Rumeau. Officiants included Ayanna Kafi, DRUUMM President, Rev. Manish Mishra-Marzetti of our UU Congregation in Ann Arbor, Esperanza Garza-Danweber of San Antonio and Rhonda Brown of Seattle, both members of the Organizing Project committee.

Together we are on track to raise our goal of $35,000. Thank you to our co-ponsors, the congregations and community organizations who pledged contributions and publicized the service. Thank you to the individuals, 220 so far, whose donations are still coming in via online and mail. Please consider giving as you are able at www.druumm.org/donate.

Your support allows us to expand our engagement at the local and regional level for BIPOC Unitarian Universalists, and invest in a stronger chaplaincy network for the upcoming year.
