Sponsor our Public Worship

Each year, DRUUMM co-creates and shares a virtual Public Worship that is open to everyone. We bring together our members, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), in Unitarian Universalism to offer a religious experience for our beloved multiracial world.

In 2021, Rev. Mitra Rahnema preached “Becoming Human, Again and Again” with music by Joshua Long and Nicole Rumeau.
In 2022, Rev. B. Tyler Cole preached “You Can Count On This” with music by Dr. Zanaida Robles and Wells Leng.

This year, save the date for our Public Worship, Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 8:00 PM Eastern with Rev. Katie Romano Griffin and musical artist Amanda Thomas, entitled “Shine On Beautiful & Resilient People”. This public event is one of our primary sources of support for DRUUMM’s multicultural ministry. Our goal is to raise $40,000. We invite congregations and organizations who wish to show visible support to be a sponsor. Sponsors are recognized in our worship guide [see our 2022 guide], on our website, DRUUMM Beat newsletter, and in our worship video that you will have permission to rebroadcast.

We are at a sensitive moment after an incredibly difficult year of pandemic and loss in our communities. Your witness and solidarity are greatly needed to help us thrive in to the future. Our goal is to connect more deeply with our wider Unitarian Universalist community to share DRUUMM’s mission, highlight some of our key activities, and raise funds in support of expanding our chaplain and pastoral care work with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in Unitarian Universalism.

Help us reach our goal and be a sponsor! To become a sponsor, please communicate how you wish your name to appear in our worship guide and materials and your pledge amount by April 30, 2023.  We request pledges to be fulfilled by December 31, 2023. We welcome a share the plate or direct contribution. We are grateful for early pledges of $250 to $2,500 that have been generously given and received.

Contact: Rev. Joseph Santos-Lyons, community minister, at [email protected]. Contributions of over $500 will receive a complimentary DRUUMM Group Membership for up to 20 BIPOC in your congregation/organization.
